The secret behind truly lifelike and tangle-free articulated flies often lies in the small details. Articulation Beads 6mm are designed specifically for finishing the joint sections of large predator flies.

When connecting two hooks or shanks with wire or heavy mono, a bare connection is prone to wear and stiffness. This 6mm bead acts like a ball bearing at the joint: it separates the fly sections, reduces friction, and enables the rear section to move freely and enticingly in the water.

Additionally, the bead serves as an important spacer. It prevents the trailing hook or tail from wrapping around the front hook bend during casting (fouling) – a common problem in long pike flies without a bead. A wide color range lets you either create a discreet connection or add a bright hotspot to the fly.
